No doubt, one of the great blog posting inhibitions is that it's not worth the time and effort; because, you fear, that not enough of the right people will even see it.
Well, I've got some important news for you. If all you're doing is posting willy-nilly, then hoping that some little marketing fairies are going to magically round up your target audience to regularly partake of your wisdom; your fear is very well founded (and you really have to stop believing in marketing fairies).
The way to make your fear go away, and consistently bring your target audience to read your pearls of wisdom, is to take personal control of your blog post distribution.
Here's how to do it.
1. Get Top Producer 7i (evolving at some point to 8i, but don't worry, everything you setup in 7i will roll-over nicely into 8i).
2. Create a "Contact Type" called "Blog Audience" or something like that.
3. Open one of your Blog Posts and copy the URL (By the way, this post should be set to "Public". Otherwise people may balk at signing up for ActiveRain and miss seeing your post.)
4. Create a new email template with text referencing your blog post.
5. Highlight some linkable words (like "click here") then click the "Link" icon.
6. Paste your Blog URL into the URL link dialogue box, then click OK.
7. Save the email template.
Imagine doing this little process more than 33 times, so you'd have a whole library of your little gems ready to go. Also imagine setting up an Action Plan in your Top Producer system that will automatically send your Blog Post links, directly to your Target Audience, on a regular basis, without any additional effort or cost.
Oh, the possibilities are exciting!
Imagine even going beyond blog posts to include your Web site pages, and even your Web published listing and open house flyers. What could this kind of marketing system do for your relationship starting, building and maintenance efforts? What would happen with your referrals if your target audience started forwarding links to their family, friends and coworkers?
Driving this kind of system is easy. If you want a mechanic to set the whole thing up for you; give us a call.
